If you are in this area, and they're open, GO! Everyone that works here is kind and conversational. Oh and buy the Jalapeño Cheddar bread. You will not be disappointed.
Their cheesecakes are legendary! And the staff is so polite.
The best bakery ever!! Loved the Cheesy Chicken Chowder, cinnamon buns, the blueberry cake doughnuts were fabulous, the bacon frosted donuts were excellent and different, the huge Hummingbird Cake as delicious as you'd ever have.....have visited twice during the first week of a 3 week stay at Lake Hartwell and will be going to Hershberger's several more times!! 5 stars for quality, prices, wonderful owner's who are so warm and welcoming!! Worth the trip!

We came down from Boston to visit family, and we were told by some of our local friends to visit. It is better than you could ever think it is!! We had the best Broccoli Cheddar soup I've had in my life, simple (yet delicious) sandwiches on house-made sourdough, and apple fritters that I will dream about for years to come. They also do custom cakes that are beautiful and artistic as they are moist and mouthwatering!
Wonderful little bakery and sandwich shop. John makes all his donuts and bread every morning. He can do cakes and such on order - and they are gorgeous and delicious! Everyone at the bakery is really sweet - they love to chat with you and hear about your day or travels. Sometimes the owner's kids are there, serving or saying hi. Very family friendly. Also, they are Celiac friendly!! I have Celiac and eat here often...GF buns and bread and they take care to prepare your food using clean surfaces and utensils (if you tell them). LOVE IT! :)
